lambgirl

i've been creating lambgirls for a month now. it's become an obsession. i even got ben in on it with me (the obsession, too). he'd cut, sand then pass them down the line. i'd outline, paint, outline, paint, outline, sand, lacquer (3x), line with origami paper, sand and hang. every once in a while ben would just start laughing. it was fantastic. i love how he supports me and all of my creations. *faith is the simplest thing between 2 people once you start to get the hang of it. oh, the therapy part doesn't hurt either :)

it's strange (yes, outside of the general strangeness associated with a girl's head on a lambs body) but she's become a bigger part of me than you could know. the painting i'm doing tonight at the MIM5 show is about the whole experience... lambs, wolves and little girls... evolution... and feeling all of it as it happens.

gallery night 7/27

there is absolutely no better night for art in milwaukee than the july gallery night. i am so excited to be part of another one. made in milwaukee was kind enough to ask me to participate in their 5th event supporting local art, music, fashion and design. i'll have a table full of goodies set up with prints and paintings for sale. oh yeah, and i'll be doing live art... god help me.

should be an exceptionally good time. music, art, fashion, beer---something for everyone, you know. so stop down, show your love for milwaukee and come find me. say hello. i would love to know you're there!

made this up at the cottage earlier this week. i tried a few times to paint the trees or a still life but nothing would go. until i pulled out one of my thrift store books, some stencils, started gluing, slopping paint and listened to a strong voice inside.
