the chief

EVERY few hours the Chief Waupaca Sternwheeler passes by our cottage pier. It's the kind of thing you never get tired of seeing.

In 1963, the Chief Oshkosh Brewing Company employed a sternwheeler paddleboat to transport beer up and down the Fox River. Unfortunately, the beer was never quite as famous as the beer that made Milwaukee famous, thus the "Chief Oshkosh" was abandoned. In 1973, the boat was resurrected from its icy grave in Lake Butte des Morts. The boat was restored and christened the "Chief Waupaca".

farm auction

LAST Saturday in Fremont, WI.
This hundred year old family farm belonged to Mr. Russell Wohlt.
Russell enjoyed trapping and wood carving.

My husband fell in love with these red gear looking guys.

Sign reads "WOOD REAPER USED ON THE FARM OF RUSSELL WOHLT FREMONT, WI."

Russ had A LOT of stuff.

My mother inlaw told me this box of antlers and skulls sold for $50. Take if from me folks, this is why you do not leave auctions early. :(

And what's a farm auction without some adorable farm boys?

Scored a pair of kickass mid-century glass ball lamps for $2. I was juiced for many hours over this. *adorable farm boy not included*

new collage series

PICTURES from last Friday's Bay View Gallery Night at Sweet Water Organics.
We had a lot of fun and appreciate everyone that came out to visit us!
We hope to do this again very, very soon.

Our display. I want to use pallets for EVERYTHING now.

My husband's amazing driftwood lamps.
